Rug Detour Press Release

For Immediate Release (photo attached)

July 2016

David Meintz, Owner of The Cleaning Studio, Lakemoor, IL, was one of a select group of Oriental and specialty rug washers from all over the United States and Canada invited to attend Rug Restoration Seminars “Rug Detour & Hands-On Specialty Cleaning Class” held July 14-15 in Grand Rapids, MI.

In addition to visiting Fibercare, a family owned rug care plant in Grand Rapids, MI, and touring through and inspecting rugs at Frank Lloyd Wright’s fully restored prairie home, the Meyer May House, the attendees had unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes working facility of The Scott Group. They have been designing and manufacturing very high-end custom-made rugs for the private aviation and architectural design markets since 1969. The general public is not allowed past the showroom door!

The specialty cleaning class involved very specific skills: color correction of bleeding dyes, pet urine removal, and stubborn stain removal. The class was led by instructors Nathan Koets of Clean Oriental Rug LLC in Grand Rapids, MI, Paul Lucas of Chem Max in Norton Shores, MI, Cameron Mayville of Omaha’s Rug Cleaning & Restoration in Omaha, NE, Lynn Tall of Rug Advocate in Saugus, MA.

Excited to be at the forefront of rug education, David has been using the advanced methods of cleaning and caring for specialty textiles that were learned at Rug Restoration Seminars “Rug Detour & Hands-On Specialty Cleaning Class” class since returning to The Cleaning Studio with great success and customer satisfaction.
